Pathways to English is a nonprofit working to break the poverty cycle through a three-phase vision: Learn, Master, Thrive. It operates at the Foyer Coin des Cieux (“Corner of Heaven Home”), an orphanage in Haiti, teaching English to impoverished youth, many of them orphaned. From there it trains them in vocational skills and helps them find jobs that pay a living wage. The work on the ground was strong. Donor engagement was slipping anyway.
